Quite possibly Ernie Watts' biggest album ever -- a set of soulful fusion done for Quincy Jones' Qwest imprint with tight arrangements and production from keyboardist Don Grusin! As with other Watts albums of the time, there's as much soul going on here as there is jazz -- vocals from Phil Perry on 3 of the album's tracks, and an overall sound that picks up plenty of rhythms and instrumental inflections from 80s soul -- yet leaves more than enough solo space for Ernie's work on alto, soprano, and tenor sax.
